Battery Removal

Remove the battery per Figure Section 6-19 and the following steps.
1. Remove the top cover and as previously described.
Remove the two 3 1/2-inch diskette drive bracket screws from the front of the

system unit (see Figure Section 6-15).
Slide the 3 1/2-inch diskette drive with bracket out of the system unit. (The
3.
bracket works like a drawer and will stop when fully out.)
Lift the battery spring clip securing the battery in the battery socket on the system

board.
5. After installing a new battery, the time, date, etc. may need to be reset. Run the
Setup utility that came with the system (see Section 2).
CAUTION: When replacing the battery be sure
to insert the battery so that the positive side is
facing up.
