Network requirements
Device A connects to Device B, a third-party device that has different MSTP implementation. Both
devices are in the same region.
Device B is the regional root bridge, and Device A is the downstream device.

Configuring Protection Functions

An MSTP-enabled device supports the following protection functions:
BPDU guard
Root guard
Loop guard
TC-BPDU guard
Among loop guard, root guard and edge port settings, only one function can take effect on a port at the
same time.
