Calibrating Colors

When colors look faded, adjust the toner color density to extend the life of the
components.
Print and use the Color Reference Page
1.
In the printer's front panel press Help, scroll to Print Quality. Press Menu, scroll to
Calibrate Colors, press Menu again and scroll to Adjust each Color. Press Menu
again, the Reference Page front panel message appears, and press Print.
2.
Compare the Color Reference Page to the Color Density Samples in the user guide.
Make a note of the value (–10 to +10) for each color that most closely matches the
samples. Place the Color Reference Page on at least two sheets of clean white
premium laser paper in a well-lighted area and align the Color Density Samples over
the Color Reference Page.
3.
Decide which blocks on the Color Reference Page most closely matches the density of
each color sample. Make a note of the value (–10 to +10) for each color; you will need
this to adjust the colors in the next procedure.
