Dynamic braking
Using a braking resistor, the converter converts the electrical en‐
ergy into heat.
• AdvantagesDefined braking response; motor temperature
does not increase any further; constant braking torque
• Disadvantages:Braking resistor required; braking energy E is
lost in the form of heat
