Troubleshooting
Symptom
Cannot turn on the processor.
The lamp does not illuminate.
No image appears on the
monitor.
Images are dark.
Text cannot be typed to screen.
The peripheral devices cannot
be operated.
A long beep tone sounds and
the [Copy] and [Video]
functions do not work.
The endoscopic image
stopped being displayed on the
LCD monitor. Or observation is
difficult due to insufficient
illumination.
Software version cannot be
displayed correctly.
Possible Cause
The power cord is not connected
properly.
A fuse has blown.
Lamp protective cover is not closed.
The lamp life is over the limit.
The monitor settings are not configured
properly.
A cable is not connected properly.
The endoscope is not connected
properly.
The lamp is not lit.
The endoscope is not compatible with
the processor.
Abnormality in the connectors.
The monitor is connected to VIDEO
OUT/SYNC OUT connector, and
[Sync out] is set to [On].
The lamp is not lit.
The keyboard is not connected
properly.
The peripheral devices are not
connected properly.
The settings of the customize buttons,
endoscope buttons, or foot switches are
not configured properly, or the
peripheral devices are not connected
properly.
Power outage or there may be a
damage in equipment such as lamp,
processor, or LCD monitor.
Attempting to display software version
or failed to display software version.
Possible Solution
Securely connect the power cord to the
power input socket and isolation
transformer.
Replace the fuse.
Close the lamp protective cover and
turn the screw knob on the cover
clockwise
Replace the lamp cartridge if the lamp
life indicator on the touch panel is lit
red and a message prompting you to
replace the lamp is displayed on the
monitor.
Turn on the monitor.
Set the proper video input signal.
Reset the adjustment values for the
monitor.
Connect all cables properly.
Align the endoscope locking lever to
the LOCK position.
Press S on the touch panel to turn on
the lamp.
Contact a PENTAX Medical service
facility.
Contact a PENTAX Medical service
facility.
Set [Sync out] to [Off].
Press S on the touch panel to turn on
the lamp.
Connect the keyboard to the processor
properly.
Connect the peripheral devices to the
processor properly.
1 Change the settings of the [Copy]
and [Video] functions in the
[Customize button settings], [Assign
scope buttons], and [Assign foot
switch] screens.
If the device that is the output
destination is not connected or
turned off, cancel the settings.
2 Connect the cables of the peripheral
devices properly and then turn on
the peripheral devices.
Release the endoscope locking lever
and the endoscope's distal tip should
be straightened to its neutral position.
Then, carefully withdraw the
endoscope from the patient.
Exit the software version display menu,
and enter another menu. Then, reenter
the software version display menu.
Or, restart the processor.
