Symptom
A server
in standby
mode
cannot
power on.

yellow.)
Issue 12 (2022-08-30)
Handling Procedure
1. Collect iBMC logs, and query
the CPLD register to determine
whether the power supply link
to the mainboard has failed.
2. If the server cannot be
powered on by pressing the
power button, check whether
the hardware of the
component where the power
button is located is faulty.
3. Check whether the mainboard
(with integrated CPUs) and
DIMMs are installed properly.

5 Diagnosing and Rectifying Faults
Quick Recovery Method
1. Remove PCIe devices, such
as NICs. Then check
whether the fault is
rectified.
● If yes, no further action is
required.
● If no, go to 2.
2. Retain only the minimum
configuration of the server
and check whether the fault
is rectified. For details about
the minimum configuration
of each server, see
Handling Faults Based on
Symptoms.
● If yes, no further action is
required.
● If no, go to 3.
3. Check whether the
mainboard (with integrated
CPUs) and DIMMs are
faulty by replacing them
and performing switching
tests. If they are faulty,
replace the faulty
components.
