Every site has a number of possible installation locations. Each
location has characteristics that make it better or worse than the
others. Examine the site and account for the location of the
computer and other devices in the building. Remember that tree
growth may affect satellite signal reception.

locate the satellite. Use a compass to locate the azimuth and a
straight edge and an inclinometer to locate the elevation. Look
into the sky toward the satellite. If anything blocks the line of
sight, find another installation location. Ask the customer if they
have any plans (such as landscaping) that might obstruct the
satellite signal. Examine nearby plants and trees, which may grow
and eventually block the signal.
