Grounding the
non-penetrating mount
Grounding the
non-penetrating mount
installation in an enterprise
If a non-penetrating mount is used for a residential installation,
ground it the same way you would ground a trimast mount. If the
non-penetrating mount is installed on the roof, ground it the same
way you would ground a trimast roof install. If the
non-penetrating mount is installed on a level ground surface,
ground it as you would a pole mount.
If a non-penetrating mount is installed in a small office/home
office (SOHO) situation, determine whether the installation site
and procedures resemble an enterprise or residential installation.
If the installation resembles a residential installation, ground the
assembly as described above. If the installation resembles an
enterprise installation, ground the installation as described below.
The installation specification or work order may include
instructions for grounding the SOHO installation.
1. Attach 8 AWG aluminum ground wire to the ground screw on
the radio. See Figure 41.
2. Run the ground wire to the mast canister. See Figure 42.
3. Loosen one of the canister screws.
setting
4. Wrap the ground wire once around the screw.
