Remote Access Software Version 5.3 Release Notes
Long space deals with
the physical layer of the
modem and does not
require a link protocol.
This is a disconnect
mode that is used by the
remote modem when
there are no link
protocols (the modem
is in "dumb" mode). In
this case, the modem
requesting the teardown
sends a "long space,"
which is interpreted by
the receiving modem
as a hang-up request.
The modem hung up
because it failed to
negotiate a retrain
(within 20 seconds),
probably due to poor
line conditions.
The caller/switch hung
up.
Busy or disconnect
was received from the
switch when attempting
to place an outgoing
call.
