Remote Access Software Version 5.3 Release Notes
MMP is disabled by default, through the annex parameter mmp_enabled
set to n. To enable MMP, you must set mmp_enabled to y and configure
the global port or inbound channels for MP, if you have not done so
already.

Long User Names

Release 5.2 supports user names of up to 128 characters.

V.110 Rate Adaption Support

Release 5.2 supports the V.110 rate adaption protocol. V.110 data is
handled as TA data, similar to V.120 and X.75 calls.
X.75 Rate Adaption Support
Release 5.2 supports the X.75 rate adaption protocol. X.75 data is handled
as TA data, similar to V.120 and V.110 calls. X.75 calls are not
autodetected in Release 5.2, however, and all X.75 calls must be directed
to a separate phone number.

PPP Connections Over External Synchronous Port

The Model 8000 RAC includes a general synchronous port, which has a
physical connector associated with it. This general synchronous port
constitutes its own port class (GSY).
The GSY port is a dedicated PPP connection, and is not allocated
dynamically like other port classes on the RAC. Like other sync ports
(class SYN), the GSY port is configured as a route in the %dialout section
of the configuration file. The GSY port does not require any dialout
activity to instantiate the route, however; the route is brought up as soon
as it receives valid PPP frames from the associated port. The route remains
active until the net_inactivity timer expires.
