(5) clockwise until you hear a click, when the
automatic open/close button (4) will drop
back and the pot will be closed properly. To
open it, make sure the pressure indicator
(2) has dropped, slide the automatic open/
close button (4) forward (Fig. 9) and turn
the lid handle (5) anticlockwise.
CAUTION: never force cooker closing
or opening.
Lid handle (5). The lid handle (5) is made of
thermally insulating fire-resistant Bakelite.
It contains several safety systems and
pressure controls, so it is not advisable
for users to tamper with it. If the valves
or other safety systems break or need to
be replaced, contact a Fagor-authorised
technical service centre.
Safety valve (7). This is housed inside
the pressure sensor (2), but it acts
independently. In case of excessive pressure

due to the working/pressure regulator
valve (3) being blocked, this safety system
will go into action and release steam to
lower the pressure inside the cooker. If
the safety valve (7) operates at any time,
move the cooker off the heat source and let
the pressure drop completely. Check the
cleanliness and operation of the working/
pressure regulator valve (3) (Fig. 10). If
the problem persists, have your cooker
checked by a Fagor-authorised technical
service centre.
Safety window (6). This is a part of the
safety systems built into your Fagor cooker.
If the working/pressure regulator valve (3)
and the safety valve (7) are obstructed due
to overfilling the pot, for example, and an
overpressure is generated inside it, steam
will be released through the safety window
(6) on the edge of the lid (1) (Fig. 11).
