1.8.2 SFP Modules
In terms of its appearance, there are 3 types of modules (types A, B and C) for SFP. Users can
see the difference among these 3 types of modules by the colors of their indicated areas shown
in the figures below.

Caution: Do not look at the inside of SFP directly to prevent you from being affected by
laser beam.
NOTE: When SFP interfaces are configured, use the Hitachi standard-type optical modules
listed below:
・SFP-SX
・SFP-LX
・SFP-SXA
・SFP-LXA
・SFP-P48SR
・SFP-P48LR
When a network interface board requires optical modules SFP-SX, SFP-LX, SFP-SXA
and SFP-LXA, operation cannot be guaranteed if other modules are used.
When a network interface board requires optical modules SFP-P48SR and SFP-
P48LR, the device will not operate correctly if other modules are used.
NOTE: When the SFP is attached to the network interface module,it is possible to identify
the type of SFP by the color of the area indeicated in the figure above.However,to
differentiate between modules SFP-SX(module B) and SFP-SXA, it is necessary to
read the label affixed to each of them.
