Audio/FM/AM radio operation

FM/AM radio operation

NOTE
. If a cell phone is placed near the
radio, it may cause the radio to emit
noise when the phone receives calls.
This noise does not indicate a radio
malfunction.
. For models with multi function dis-
play, the selected reception mode and
frequency will be displayed when either
the "FM/AM" button (type A) or the
"FM" button/"AM" button (type B) is
pressed. When receiving a broadcast,
the station name may be displayed. For
details, refer to "Audio screen" F3-51.
& FM/AM selection (type A
audio)
"FM/AM" button
Press the "FM/AM" button when the radio
is off to turn on the radio.
Press the "FM/AM" button when the radio
is on to select the preferred reception
mode.
Each time the "FM/AM" button is briefly
pressed, the radio will change in the
following sequence starting from the last
radio band that you selected.
& FM selection (type B audio)
"FM" button
Press the "FM" button when the radio is off
to turn on the radio.
Press the "FM" button when the radio is on
to select the preferred reception mode.
Each time the "FM" button is briefly
pressed, the radio will change in the
following sequence starting from the last
radio band that you selected.
& AM selection (type B audio)
"AM" button
Press the "AM" button when the radio is off
to turn on the radio.
Each time the "AM" button is briefly
pressed, the radio will change in the
following sequence starting from the last
radio band that you selected.
& Tuning
! Manual tuning
"TUNE" dial
Turn the "TUNE" dial clockwise to in-
crease the tuning frequency and turn the
"TUNE" dial counterclockwise to decrease
it.
Every time the dial is turned, the fre-
quency interval will be changed 9 kHz (10

) in the AM mode and 0.05 MHz (0.1

MHz*
) in the FM mode.
*1: For type B audio: The tuning frequency
interval can be set to either 9 kHz or 10 kHz to
suit the broadcasting area.
*2: For type A audio for Australia, in the FM
mode, when the "TUNE" dial is turned the
frequency will change in 0.1 MHz increments/
decrements.
