NOTE
For models with Auto Start Stop sys-
tem:
. The engine low oil level warning
light will not turn off immediately even
if you replace or add engine oil. It will
turn off after the vehicle starts to move.
Depending on the driving conditions
and environment where the vehicle is
driven, it may take a period of approxi-
mately 10 minutes for the light to turn
off. If the light has still not turned off
after 15 minutes have elapsed, we
recommend that you contact your
SUBARU dealer.
. The engine low oil level warning
light may illuminate temporarily in the
following conditions because a low oil
level may be detected as a result of
significant oil movement in the engine.
– when the vehicle is considerably
inclined on an uphill or steep slope
– when the vehicle has continu-
ously accelerated and decelerated
– when the vehicle is continuously
turned
– when the vehicle is driven on a
road that alternates continuously
between uphill and downhill
Instruments and controls/Warning and indicator lights
For models without Auto Start Stop
system:
. The engine low oil level warning
light turns off when the ignition switch
is turned to the "LOCK"/"OFF" posi-
tion. However, after the next time you
turn on the engine, if the engine oil
level has decreased to the lower limit,
the warning light illuminates frequently
while the engine is running.
. When the vehicle is considerably
inclined on an uphill or steep slope, the
warning light may illuminate tempora-
rily due to the movement of engine oil
in the engine.
&
AT OIL TEMP warning
light (CVT models)
If this light illuminates when the engine is
running, it may indicate that the transmis-
sion fluid temperature is too hot.
If the light illuminates while driving, im-
mediately stop the vehicle in a safe
location and let the engine idle until the
warning light turns off.
! Transmission control system warn-
ing
If the "AT OIL TEMP" warning light flashes
after the engine has started, it may
indicate that the transmission control
system is not working properly. We re-
commend that you contact your nearest
SUBARU dealer for service immediately.
&
Rear differential oil
temperature warning
light (if equipped)
CAUTION
Reduce the vehicle speed and park
the vehicle in a safe location as
soon as possible if the R.DIFF TEMP
warning light illuminates. Sustained
driving with this light on can cause
the rear differential and other parts
of the powertrain to be damaged.
If this light illuminates when the engine is
running, it may indicate that the rear
differential oil temperature is too hot.
If the light illuminates while driving, reduce
vehicle speed and stop the vehicle in the
nearest safe location. Park the vehicle for
several minutes. After the light turns off,
you can start driving.
If the light does not turn off, we recom-
mend that you contact the nearest
SUBARU dealer for service.
