SYSTEM OPERATION
SYSTEM CONTROL
The 2052CPM Central Processing Modulet controls the 2052
MegaPower II WIP Switching System operation and provides
programming and menus for 2052 system setup.
Eight modular ports are provided on the rear of the 2052CPM
module. These ports are for system control inputs from
keyboards, external computers, or alarm interface units.
All 2052 system setup and control functions are accessible
through the keyboards (or external computers) connected to the
2052CPM. For security purposes, certain keyboards have
restricted setup capabilities. Refer to the appropriate keyboard
installation manual and to the list of American Dynamics
Keyboards provided in the Appendix, page A-9.

System Keyboards

Several American Dynamics keyboards are available for use
with the 2052CPM.
• 2078 - A full-function system operation and programming
keyboard with pushbutton lens control and vector solving
joystick for pan/tilt movement.
• 1678CM -
A full-function system operation and
programming keyboard with pushbutton lens control and
vector solving joystick for pan/tilt movement.
• 1677 - An operator keyboard with pushbutton lens and
pan/tilt control.
• 1676B - An operator 5-monitor keyboard with pushbutton
lens control and joystick for pan/tilt movement.
As a security feature, 2078 and 1678CM keyboards have a
keyswitch for disabling all system setup and programming
functions. When the keyboard security key is in the vertical
position (or has been removed when in this position), no
system setup functions are accessible from that keyboard. The
video switching and control functions are still enabled in this
position.
An external computer can be connected to a 2052CPM control
port for system control inputs. Video switching and control
functions are provided, but setup programming capabilities are
not accessible from an external computer control interface.
Refer to the Appendix, page A-10, for further description of
the Computer Control capabilities.
Passcode Entry
Passcode entry is a security procedure to allow only authorized
personnel to operate the system. When USER IDS is enabled
(see USER IDENTIFICATION menu, page 4-27), model
1676B and 1677 keyboards cannot access the system. In this
situation the user must have a user number and a passcode to
gain control of the system, through a 1678CM or 2078
keyboard only. The passcode entry system allows a maximum
of 64 users with a separate passcode for each user (see SET
USER menu, page 4-28).
Passcode Logon
When a 1768CM or 2078 keyboard is initialized and USER
IDS is enabled, the keyboard displays the letters "UC"
(Usercode) in the CAMERA display. This indicates that the
user must log on to the system before gaining access to any
keyboard operating or programming functions:
1. Enter the user number (1-64) on the keypad.
2. Press the ACK button on the keyboard. The system then
prompts for the passcode by displaying "PSC" (Passcode)
in the keyboard CAMERA display.
3. Enter the user's passcode, a maximum of six digits.
(The default passcode for user #1 is 914365.)
If an incorrect user passcode is entered, press the CLEAR
button, then repeat starting from step 1.
4. Press the ACK button on the keyboard.
5. If an incorrect passcode is entered, a tone is sounded (if
keyboard sound is enabled) and "UC" is displayed again.
Press the CLEAR button and repeat steps 1 through 4.
6. If the passcode verifies, dashes are displayed on the
keyboard MONITOR and CAMERA displays (-- ---). This
confirms that the keyboard is connected to the system and
that a monitor can be called to the keyboard (page 2-2).
Passcode Logoff
When the user session is completed it is advisable to log off:
• Enter "99" on the keypad and press the keyboard "F1" key.
or
• Press the "USER" key on a 2078 keyboard.
Note: The default passcode (step 3 under Logon, above)
should be changed to protect against unauthorized access to
the installed system. User passcodes are changed by menu
programming, see SET USER menu page 4-28.
