Procedure without PG/PC
Requirements
● Install the IO_LINK_DEVICE function block.
You obtain the IO_LINK_DEVICE function block and the description on the Internet
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/82981502).
After completion of commissioning, a PG/PC with the project is no longer available to the
plant. For backing up and restoring the parameter data and configuration data from or to a
module, the IO_LINK_DEVICE function block is available for the SIMATIC controllers of the
S7 family.
With this function block, you back up all relevant data records of a module after
commissioning, in a data block (DB), for example. In the event of a replacement, write the
relevant data from the data block to the replaced module with the IO_LINK_DEVICE function
block.
Refer to the appendix "Data sets for the 3RA64/3RA65 compact starter with IO-Link
(Page 279)" for data records to be backed up for a module.
Procedure
1. Copy the IO_LINK_DEVICE function block (including data block DB10) to a STEP 7
project.
2. Use the IO_LINK_DEVICE function block as described in the documentation.
3. You will find an application example of how to use the IO-Link devices with the
IO_LINK_DEVICE function block on the Internet

Note
An IO-Link Device is a module that communicates with the IO-Link master via its
communication connection. With the special cases "SIRIUS 3RA64/65 compact starter " and
"SIRIUS 3RA2711 function modules", where group formations of up to four starters are
possible, the above information refers to the replacement of the first load feeder.
Replacement of load feeders 2 to 4 of a group of four does not require any supplementary
measures.
