Setting the time and date

The first time you log in to a new system, you need to set the time and date.
Note: If you reinstalled the operating system from a CD, you already set the time and date. Continue with
Setting up network
addressing.
Set the time of day, date, and time zone as follows:
1. Start at the Administration menu and select Basic System Administration > Date and Time
Administration.
The server displays the Linux Date and Time page.
2. In the Date field, select the month and day. Type the current year (such as 2004).
3. For AM/PM, select the type of time you are using (AM, PM, or 24-hour clock).
4. For Time, then select the hours and minutes.
5. For Time Zone field, select the current time zone.
6. When finished, click Save.
The new settings are saved, and you are prompted to log off.
Note: If you did not make any changes to this page (the time and date were already correct), you are not
asked to log off.
7. Click Log Off.
8. Log in using the default password.
