Installing the system hardware

This topic provides information on installing the required and optional system hardware. Hardware components
that are unique to one server model or are optional are noted. For a list of the system hardware, see the table in
Unpacking the
system.
Note: Before you can successfully complete the tasks in this section, verify that all of the
prerequisites
have been met.
Place the chassis in the designated operating area. Verify that all
can be installed as follows:
The S3400-H server can be installed in a customer-provided commercial cabinet as a rack-mounted

system, or without a commercial cabinet as a stackable desktop system. Instructions are provided for
installing both rack-mounted and stackable desktop systems.

The S3210 server can only be installed as a standing tower.
