Check the following:
Copier's condition
Nothing happens when the main
switch is turned on.

Paper tray is empty.

Toner cartridge is almost
empty.
Or toner cartridge is empty.

The display instructs you to
add staples.

Doors/covers are open.
Y
Misfeed occurs.
m
The display instructs you to
call your service repre-
sentative.
The fusing unit is not set cor-
rectly.
The toner cartridge is not
set correctly.
An original has been left on
the exposure glass.
Staples do not come out at all.
The display is off.

Check the power cord. Is it properly plugged into the
outlet?
Plug it in firmly.
Load paper. See page 101.
Add toner. See page 107.
Add staples. See page 108.
Close the indicated doors/covers following the
instructions on the display.
Remove misfed paper.
Call your service representative.
Set them correctly.
Remove the original from the exposure glass.
After loading a new staple cartridge, staples might
not be ejected the first few times you try to use the
stapler.
There are jammed staples in the stapler.
Call your service representative.
A few sheets might not be stapled. To correct this,
try turning over the paper stack in the paper tray, or
large capacity tray. If there is no improvement,
change to copy paper with less curl.
Your machine is in Screen Saver mode.
Stand in front of the machine.
