Operating the LAN Console
The following command can be used to close an open or hanging connection
like this directly via the administration access in the RCA4 in the case of console
connections set up via the RCA4:
Syntax:
Port#> logout
port <
Port#
Port number of RCA:
<TCP Port number>- 3000, i.e.
from 1–16 with RCA4 (16 ports) and
from 1–8 with RCA4-8.
The TCP port number referred to above is taken from the entry under
RCA PortNumber from the output of the command
showlancon -n <
<ConsoleName> is the symbolic system name of the target system to which the
console connection is to be set up.
An error message is output if there is no connection for the specified port.
Once the opened or hanging connection has been reset on the relevant port, it
can be re-opened.

Caution
Please note that an active connection can also be aborted or reset.
For information on hanging connections in relation to an RCA3, please refer to
the manual LAN Console U41224-J-Z916-1-76.

No output in console window

If output is still not possible in the console window of a connected system
despite the connection being set up successfully, this blockade can be lifted, if
appropriate, from the LAN Console by entering the following command:
echo "\021\c" > /dev/rtty/<
<line> is derived from the entry under "DEVICE" from the output of the
command
showlancon -n <
<ConsoleName> is the symbolic system name of the target system.
