Operating the LAN Console
A record is appended to the Systems file for every configuration entry. The first
field of this record contains the console name. The third field in this record
contains the internal name Scon<line>. If this name has already been allocated
by other system tools, an internal name of the type Scon0<line> , ...,
Scon00000<line> is generated, where <line> identifies the number of the rtty
device, i.e. it is derived from the device information of the associated _pmtab
entry: /dev/rtty/<line>.
An entry is written to the Devices file under the internal name that is generated
in this way.
In turn, the rmlancon tool removes such entries from the Systems and Devices
files.

RCA system information

Information on the RCA4 system settings can be found via the administration
access under the user name Admin (in addition to RCA access, the section
"RCA commands" describes the main commands).
Please refer to the LAN Console manual (U41224-J-Z916-1-76) for accessing
system information on RCA3.

Error situations
5.8.1
No response from the RCA
If the RCA4 still cannot be accessed after booting either with ping or via the
administration access, then all network parameter details (IP address, MAC
address, possibly the gateway address) entered under "Recording the configu-
ration data" on page 48 must be checked.
The prerequisite for configuration was that the RCA could be accessed in the
LAN network and that all required console connections had been implemented.
Consequently, incorrect configuration data is the only possible remaining cause
of the RCA failing to respond.
So that the configuration data can take effect when it has been corrected, the
arp command should be executed as follows:
RCA SystemName
arp -d <
