CODE NO.24 VSS CIRCUIT (3 A/T VEHICLE ONLY)
(SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL NOT INPUTTED WHILE VEHICLE RUNNING)
3 A/T Vehicle
STEP
1) Disconnect VSS coupler with ignition switch
OFF.
2) Check for proper connection to VSS "P" and "BI"
wire terminals.

3) If OK, then check resistance of VSS.
Resistance between terminals : 100 – 300 W
Resistance between terminal
and transmission body
Are check results satisfactory?
Check visually VSS and counter shaft gear for the
following.
D No damage
D No foreign material attached
D Correct installation

Are they in good condition?

NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform final check, referring to "FINAL CHECK" in this
section to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.

: 1 MW or more

Go to Step 2.
"B" or "W" wire open or shorted
to ground or poor C9 or C20
connection.
If wire and connection are OK,
intermittent trouble or faulty
PCM.
Recheck referring to "INTER-
MITTENT AND POOR CON-
NECTION" in Section 0A.

NO
Replace VSS.
Clean, repair or
replace.
