B-15 A/C CONDENSER FAN MOTOR CIRCUIT CHECK
(VEHICLE WITH A/C ONLY)
STEP
1) Remove fan control relay from relay/fuse box.
2) Using service wire, connect two terminals of relay/
fuse box as shown in figure.
CAUTION:
1
Check to make sure that connection is
made between correct terminals. Wrong
connection can cause damage to ECM
(PCM), wire harness, etc.
3) Does fan motor operate?
Check fan control relay referring to "A/C CONDENS-
ER FAN CONTROL RELAY (IF EQUIPPED)" in this

section.
Is it in good condition?
1) Install fan control relay.
3 2) Check ECT sensor referring to Section 6E1.
Is it in good condition?
1) Engine start.
2) Check voltage at terminal of coupler under each
condition given below.

When not operating A/C fan motor: 10 – 14 V
When operating A/C fan motor:
Is check result satisfactory?

D "BI/W" or "R/BI" wire open
Go to Step 2.
D Poor fan motor coupler
connection
D Faulty fan motor pump
Go to Step 3. Faulty fan control relay.
Go to Step 4. Faulty ECT sensor.
D "Y" or "Lg" wire harness
System is in
good condition. open
D Poor coupler connection.
If wire and connection are OK,
substitute a know-good ECM
and recheck.
