6E3-82 ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM (J18 ENGINE WITHOUT WU TWC)
1. Viewed from terminal side
HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (IF EQUIPPED)
INSPECTION
Inspect oxygen sensor referring to flow table of "CODE NO.13
HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR CIRCUIT" in this section.
OXYGEN SENSOR HEATER INSPECTION
1) Disconnect sensor coupler.
2) Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals "V
and "GND" of sensor coupler.
NOTE:
Temperature of sensor affects resistance value largely.
Make sure that sensor heater is at correct temperature.
Resistance of oxygen sensor heater:
2 – 100 W at 205C, 685F
If found faulty, replace oxygen sensor.
3) Connect sensor coupler securely.
INSTALLATION
Reverse removal procedure for installation, and then noting the fol-
lowing instructions.
D Tighten oxygen sensor to specified torque.
Tightening Torque
(a): 45 N·m (4.5 kg-m, 32.5 lb-ft)
D Connect coupler of oxygen sensor and clamp wire harness se-
curely.
D After installing oxygen sensor, start engine and check that no ex-
haust gas leakage exists.
