Changing subnet netmask value

The subnet mask is set using procedure
change the subnet mask to the default value or clear the subnet mask.
Procedure
1. Enter Global Configuration mode:
enable
configure terminal
2. At the command prompt, enter the following command:
[default] [no] ip netmask
Variable definitions
The following table describes the parameters for the ip netmask command.

Setting default gateway

Use this procedure to set the IP default gateway address for a switch, change the IP default
gateway address to the default address, or clear the IP default gateway address.
Important:
When you change the IP gateway address, you can lose connection to Telnet and the Web. You
also can disable any new Telnet connection required to connect to the serial Console port to
configure a new IP Gateway address.
Procedure
1. Enter Global Configuration mode:
enable
configure terminal
2. At the command prompt, enter the following command:

Value
Sets the subnet mask to the default value
(255.255.255.0).
Sets the subnet mask for a switch to all zeros
(0.0.0.0).
