The following table describes the parameters for the duplex [port <portlist>] command.

High speed flow control

The high speed flow control feature lets you control traffic and avoid congestion on the gigabit full-
duplex link. If the receive port buffer becomes full, the switch issues a flow-control signal to the
device at the other end of the link to suspend transmission. When the receive buffer is no longer full,
the switch issues a signal to resume the transmission. You can set the flow control mode to
Asymmetric or disabled.

Specifies the port number to configure the duplex
mode. Enter the port number you want to configure,
or ALL to configure all ports simultaneously.
Sets duplex to:
• full — full-duplex mode
• half — half-duplex mode
• auto — autonegotiation
Sets the duplex operation for a port to the factory
default duplex value.

If you omit this parameter, the system uses the
port number you specified in the interface
command.
Important:
When you set the duplex mode for
autonegotiation, ensure that the other side of
the link is also set for autonegotiation.
