Check the DHCP network settings of your computer or
mobile device
Make sure that the network settings of the computer or mobile device with which you
want to connect to the access point/router are correct:
• Access point mode. If the access point/router is in access point mode (the default
system mode), the LAN subnet to which your computer or device connects depends
on the type of connection to the access point/router:
Directly connected. If you are directly connected over WiFi or an Ethernet cable
-
to the access point/router network, make sure that the IP address of your computer
or mobile device is on the same subnet as the LAN subnet of the access
point/router. If you are using the default addressing scheme, your device's address
is in the range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254.
Connected to the same network but not directly connected. If you are not
-
directly connected to the access point/router, make sure that the IP address of
your computer or mobile device is on the same subnet as the LAN subnet of the
existing network router to which the access point/router is connected.
• Router mode. If the access point/router is in router mode, make sure that the IP
address of your computer or mobile device is on the same subnet as the LAN subnet
of the access point/router. If you are using the default addressing scheme, your
device's address is in the range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254.
Most computers and mobile devices function as DHCP clients. If your computer or
mobile device does not, enable its DHCP client so that is can obtain an IP address
automatically using DHCP.
Standard LED behavior when the access
point/router is powered on
After you turn on power to the access point/router, verify that the following sequence
of events occurs:
1. When power is first applied, verify that the Power LED is lit.
2. After about two minutes, verify the following:
• The Power LED is solid green.
• The Internet LED is solid or blinking green.
