Use the following procedure to install an non-hot-plug expansion board in a
PCI expansion slot.
1. Follow the procedures for "Preparing to Install Non-Hot-Plug Options"
described earlier in this chapter.
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of damage to your system or expansion boards,
remove all AC power cords before installing or removing PCI expansion boards.
With the front panel power switch in the Standby position, auxiliary power is still
connected to the PCI expansion slot and may damage the card.
2. Identify the PCI expansion slot you wish to populate.
3. Press on the top

4. Remove the expansion slot cover or existing expansion board

5. Align the new expansion board with the groove on its PCI retainer clip
opposite the removed expansion slot cover.
NOTE: The PCI retainer clip can be locked in the open position to facilitate expansion
board removal, but this locking feature is not necessary for expansion board installation.
