F-2 Compaq ProLiant DL580 Server Setup and Installation Guide
Use the following procedure to install a new battery:
1. If the server is on, power it down. See Chapter 2, "Installing Hardware
Options."
2. Remove the server from the rack.
a. Remove the power supplies from the server.
b. Loosen the thumbscrews securing the server to the rack and pull the
server out until it locks in the fully extended position.
c. Press the component rail release latches inward.
d. Lift the server from the rack.
3. Remove the access panel and the peripheral board. See "Installing a
Processor" and "Installing a Non-Hot-Plug Expansion Board" in
Chapter 2, "Installing Hardware Options."
4. Locate the battery holder on the peripheral board.
