Checking the canister

1. Check the canister. Replace the canister
if cracked.
2. Connect the special service tool a to the
atmospheric port a and cover the other
ports b with fingers.

Vacuum/pressure pump gauge set a:
90890-06756
3. Apply the specified positive pressure and
check that there is no air leakage.
Replace the canister if there is air leak-
age.
Specified pressure:
19.6 kPa (0.196 kgf/cm

Installing the canister

1. Install the grommets a and collars b to
the bracket c.

2. Install the bracket c, and temporarily
tighten the fuel pump assembly bolt d
and cylinder head cover bolts e.

3. Tighten the fuel pump assembly bolt d
to the specified torque.

Fuel pump assembly bolt d:
10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.4 ft·lb)
TIP:
Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts e to
the general torque in 2 stages.
4. Install the canister using the bracket and
the bolt. See exploded diagram (6-6).
