OUTLINE
The table below shows the serial communication types supported by the FX5.
Communication
Function
functions
N:N Network
Up to eight PLCs are connected, and data is automatically transferred among them.
Parallel link
Function for connecting two FX5 PLCs and mutually linking devices.
MC protocol
MC protocol is used to access CPU module and external devices (PC, GOT, etc.) from equipment that supports
MC protocol via Ethernet or serial communication.
The serial port of the FX5 is capable of communication with MC protocol 3C/4C frame.
Inverter communication
An FX PLC can control up to 16 inverters via RS-485 communication.
Non-protocol
Non-protocol serial communication is available between an FX PLC and RS-232C/RS-485 interface equipment
communication
such as bar code reader, printer, personal computer and measuring instrument.
Predefined protocol
Data can be sent and received between the counterpart device and CPU module with a protocol appropriate to
support
the counterpart device (such as measuring instrument or barcode reader).
