2.5.3 Installing the UPS Battery (recommended model)
A battery installed on the DRYPRO 771 and used as an UPS is described below.
1. Operation
Operating sequence of the battery, one is recommended by the manufacturer, the other not is
detailed below.
When using a recommended UPS battery
• When a power failure occurs, the DRYPRO 771 carries out the same shutdown sequence as
the operation switch is pressed, and the power will be shut down.
When a power failure occurs during print operation, after discharging the film in process, the

the power will be shut down.
If there are remaining print queue at the time of power failure, it will be printed at the next time when
the power is turned on again.
If the serial cable is accidentally pulled off during operation of the DRYPRO 771, it starts
shutdown sequence in the same manner as a power failure occurs.
When using an UPS battery other than recommended
• Shutdown sequence as described for the recommended UPS battery is not guaranteed. After
continuing a normal operation as long as the UPS battery can endure, it suddenly turns off.
If the power is abruptly shut down while the DRYPRO 771 is in operation, data such as
film data may not be kept correct.
2. Purchase of the UPS battery
Purchase the recommended UPS battery according to the local electrical standard.

Check on the homepage of APC in each country, and select a correct type
compatible with those listed above.
3. Installation
Follow the instruction detailed in the user manual attached to the purchased device.
The UPS battery can be set within the stand if the DRYPRO is delivered with a
stand.
When installing the UPS battery for the DRYPRO that is not delivered with a stand,
install the battery on either side of the unit so that it will not hinder the operation.
