ascii
Sets the file transfer type to ASCII.
Sets the file transfer type to binary. Be sure to set this
binary
binary command when transferring files.
bye
Ends the execution of the ftp command.
cd
Changes the working directory.
cdup
Moves the working directory to the parent directory.
close
Cancels the connection with the Printer, and displays the
ftp prompt.
disconnect
Deletes unprocessed files already transferred to the
delete (file name)
Printer.
Deletes multiple unprocessed files already transferred to
mdelete (file n)
the Printer.
dir
mdir
Deletes spooled file information already transferred to
the Printer.
ls
mls
get
Copies 1 file from the Printer to the local host.
mget
Copies multiple files from the Printer to the local host.
mode (mode name)
Sets the file transfer mode.
Connects with the Printer. After executing the open
open (remote device)
command, enter the user name and password.
put (file name)
Copies 1 file from the computer to the Printer.
Copies 1 file or multiple files from the computer to the
mput (file name)
Printer.
Displays the path name of the current directory. The
pwd
directory path is always /.
quit
Ends the execution of the ftp command.
recv
Copies 1 file from the Printer to the local host.
Displays the help information for internal commands
remotehelp (internal
supported by the Printer's ftp server on the screen. (When
command)
internal commands are omitted, displays the internal
command list.)
send (file name)
Copies 1 file from the computer to the Printer.
struct (struct name)
Sets the file transfer structure.
If a file with the same name as the transferred file already

exists, it is stored in the Printer's spool with a different
name.
type (type name)
Sets the file transfer type.
Logs in to the Printer's ftp server. After executing the user
user (user name)
command, enter the user name and password.
TIP
Up to 10 users can be connected in 3 protocols: ftp (for data transfer), lpr (lpq,
lprm), and xpt.
