YARN PREPARATION FOR KNITTING
A yarn of suitable thickness or kind has to be used according to the type of
knitting. For knitting on the Knitter, the yarn
having
the thickness close to
the yarns (2-3) in the left
photo
is recommended. When the Ribber is
con-
nected, the yarn having the thickness close to the yarns (1-2)
in
the left
photo is recommended.
Correct preparation of the selected
yarn is
also a very
important step to
assure proper knitting.
..
It is not possible to knit from a hank of yarn or hand wound ball, as for
machine knitting it is essential for the yarn to feed into the machine freely.
Place
the
hank
onto your arms or a Skein Holder and wind into a ball using
the Yarn Ball Winder.
The
Skein
Holder
and Yarn Ball Winder are useful optional
accessories.
When yarn is rewound, ensure that the yarn
end
comes out
freely without I ifting the ball from the table.
We
recommend you to wax the yarn
during
winding by
simply
letting
the yarn run over an ordinary white candle
or knitting wax.
