PLATING
Two different colour yarns are knitted together. One yarn
appears on one side whilst the second yarn appears on the
other side of the fabric
.
Plating in stockinet is predominant, but if you knit the
yarns in Tuck stitch, you can enjoy different effect of
fabric
.
The sample is knitted with the Pattern No.l-(6).
Before knitting patterns in this stitch type, follow the
Preparatory Steps given on pages 19-22, and the additional
instructions given below.
BEFORE KNITTING THE PATTERN
Set the Carriage controls as for the Tuck stitch patterns,
but the Stitch Dial must be set higher by 1-2 numbers
than the Tuck knitting since two yarns are knitted together.
Thread the Plating Yarn Feeder as follows.
1. Move the Carriage to the either end of the Needle Bed

the rear of the Yarn Feeder is visible.
Open the Yarn Feeder Gate.
2. Put the plating yarn into the Yarn Feeder (]), insert the
Tappet Tool from the rear of the Yarn Feeder and catch
the plating yarn, and guide it to the rear of the Yarn
Feeder

Feeder.
3:
When the main yarn and the plating yarn are set
in
the
Yarn Feeder properly, close the Yarn Feeder
Gate.
