By moving the Lace Carriage bac
k
and forth as you knit
stockinet fabric, lace stitch pattern is easily produced on
the fabric.
The sample is knitted with the Pattern
No.1-L-(1).
Following the Preparatory Steps given on pages 41-42,
prepare for knitting the lace stitch pattern, and have the
Carriage at the right side of the working needles.
BEFORE KNITTING THE PATTERN
Set the Carriage controls.

WHILE KNITTING THE PATTERN
Knit slowly and in a even speed following the arrow mark
given on the Pattern Card.
If the direction of knitting is not corresponding with the
arrow marks, the lace stitch pattern will be knitted dif-
ferently or will not be formed .
