If you can see the tread wear
indicators at three or more places
around the tire, you need a new
tire. Here are other things that
mean you need to get a new tire:
• The tread or sidewall is
cracked, cut or snagged deep
enough to show cord or fabric.
• The tire has a bump, bulge or
split.
• The tire has a puncture, cut or
other damage that cannot be
repaired well because of the
size or location of the
damage.
The tire information label says
what size tires you need.
To determine the location of your
vehicle's tire information label, see
"Vehicle Loading" in Section 3.
It is recommended that you
replace all four tires at the same
time.
Replacing fewer than four tires at
one time can affect the braking
and handling performance of your
vehicle.
When replacing tires, you should
use the same size, load range,
speed rating and construction
type as the original tires on the
vehicle.
Section 4
Make sure the replacement tire is
compatible with your tire pressure
monitoring system. If not, the
system may give inaccurate low
pressure warnings.
See "Tire Pressure Monitor"
earlier in this section for more
information.
Winter tires with the same speed
rating as the original tires may not
be available for H, V, W, Y and ZR
speed rated tires. If you choose
snow tires with a lower speed
rating, never exceed the tire's
maximum speed capability.
See "Winter Tires" later in this
section for more information.
