Air Quality Sensor (If equipped)
If your vehicle is equipped with an
air quality sensor, the climate
control system adjusts to limit
some exhaust fumes from being
pulled inside your vehicle.
Press the AUTO button on the
climate control system to activate
the air quality sensor.
While the sensor detects poor air
quality, the recirculation indicator
light will come on.
If the recirculation feature is used
for a long period of time, the air in
the vehicle may become too dry.
To avoid this, the sensor may
cancel recirculation even though it
still detects poor air quality.
Under certain conditions, the
sensor may not activate the
recirculation mode, such as during
cold weather or with odors, like
skunk.
To limit odors manually, press
to recirculate the air inside your
vehicle.
The air quality sensor does not
detect organic odors or many
chemical-related odors. To limit
these types of odors, you must
manually select the recirculation
mode.
The air quality sensor system will
not protect you against carbon
monoxide (CO) gas, which you
cannot see or smell.
