Starting and Operating Instructions

■ KEYS

CAUTION
Do not leave children in the
vehicle with the ignition key or
a transmitter.
If your vehicle is equipped with
the Keyless Access System, vehi-
cle ignition and starting func-
tions could be activated if the
transmitter is in the vehicle.
The children could operate the
power windows or other
controls and could even start
the vehicle and make the
vehicle move.
Children can be seriously
injured or killed if caught in the
path of a closing window.
Do not leave children
unattended in the vehicle.

Your vehicle's ignition is operated
using either a standard, removable
key or using an integrated, non-
removable key called the ignition
control knob.
• Removable Ignition Key
This key is used for the driver's
door, ignition and glove box.
If you can remove the ignition
key from the ignition switch,
your vehicle is equipped with
the Remote Keyless Entry
System.
See "Remote Keyless Entry
System" later in this section
for more information.
• Ignition Control Knob
Vehicles with an ignition
control knob are also equipped
with the Keyless Access System.
With the Keyless Access
System, there is a standard key
inside the keyless access
transmitter.
This key may be used for the
driver's door and the glove
box.
