■ TRACTION

There are three systems that
control the vehicle: steering,
brakes, and accelerator. To keep
the vehicle under control, do not
push any of these systems beyond
their limits.

Traction Control

This system automatically limits
wheel spin under slippery road
conditions.
See Section 1 for more information
on the traction control system.
Stabilitrak
®
System
The system helps maintain
directional control under slippery
road conditions.
See Section 1 for more information
®
on the Stabilitrak
system.
Limited-Slip Rear Axle (If
equipped)
The locking rear axle can give
added traction on snow, ice, etc.
When either drive wheel is on a
slippery surface and the opposite
wheel has better traction, the
locking unit can continue to move
the vehicle even though one of the
wheels may initially be spinning.

■ STEERING

Power Steering

If you lose power steering assist
because the engine stops or the
system is malfunctioning, you can
still steer but it will take much
more effort.

Speed Sensitive Steering

This system automatically varies
the amount of steering effort in
proportion to your vehicle speed.
The required steering effort
increases as your speed increases.
If your vehicle seems more difficult
to steer than normal when parking
or driving slowly, there may be a
problem with the system. You will
still have power steering but it will
take much more effort at slow
speeds. See your dealer for service.
