Programming Additional Keys
1. Verify that the new key has
stamped on it.
2. Start the engine using the
previously programmed key.
If the engine does not start,
see your dealer for service.
3. Turn off the ignition and
remove the key.
4. Within five seconds of turning
off the ignition, insert the key
that you are programming
and start the engine.
Once the key is programmed,
the Security System Light will
turn off.
The key may be programmed
so quickly that you may not
even realize that the Security
System Light had turned on.
If additional keys are to be
programmed, repeat the previous
steps.
Do not leave the key or the device
that disarms the theft deterrent
system in the vehicle.
Section 3
Immobilizer (Keyless Access
System)
If your vehicle has a removable
ignition key, see "Immobilizer
(Remote Keyless Entry System)"
earlier in this section.
The system is armed when the
ignition control knob is turned to
OFF.
The system will automatically
disarm when the ignition control
knob is pushed in and a valid
keyless access transmitter is
detected in the vehicle.
Only a keyless access transmitter
that has been successfully
matched to the vehicle will start
the engine.
