Ultrasonic Rear Parking
Assist (Without Light
Display)
If your vehicle is equipped with a
light display above the rear
window, see "Ultrasonic Rear Park-
ing Assist (With Light Display)"
later in this section.
The system's sensors, located on
the rear bumper, can detect
objects that are at least 20 cm tall,
below the rear window and within
a distance of about 2.5 m from the
vehicle.
When the vehicle speed is less than
8 km/h and you shift into reverse
gear, the system will turn on auto-
matically.
A single chime will sound to let
you know the system is active.
The system uses a series of chimes
to warn you that the rear of the
vehicle is approaching an object.
As the vehicle gets closer to the
detected object, the interval
between the chimes becomes
shorter. When the distance is less
than 30 cm the chimes sound
continuously.
The maximum distance at which
the system can detect objects may
be reduced when the weather is
warm or the humidity is high.

This system may not be available
or interference may occur as a
result of any of the following
conditions:
• The system is disabled
manually.

Center to enable or disable this
feature.

this section for more informa-
tion.
• The sensors on the rear
bumper are dirty.
Be sure to keep the front and
rear bumpers free of mud, dirt,
snow, ice and slush.
