NOTICE
If your key seems stuck, first
make sure that the key is the
correct key and that it is in all
the way. If your vehicle has a
manual transmission, turn the
steering wheel to the left and
right while you turn the key
hard by hand. Do not use a tool
to force the key. If this does not
work, take the vehicle in for
service.
NOTICE
Do not use a tool to force the
ignition control knob from the
cylinder.
2. ACC (Accessory)
In this position, you can
operate your electrical
accessories while the engine is
off.
This position will turn off the
engine.
Operating features such as the
radio with the ignition in the
accessory position for
extended periods may drain
the battery and prevent the
vehicle from starting. Do not
operate the vehicle in the
accessory position for a long
period of time.
Section 3
3. ON (on)
The ignition returns to the ON
position after you start the
engine and release the key or
control knob.
If your vehicle has an
automatic transmission, the
ignition must be in the ACC or
ON position with the regular
brake pedal applied to shift the
transmission out of P (Park).
Unless the engine is running,
leaving the ignition in the ON
position for an extended
period of time will drain the
battery.
4. START (start)
This position starts the engine.
When the engine starts,
release the key or the control
knob. The ignition will return
to ON.
