System Configuration Setup
Onboard SCSI Utility
The onboard SCSI Utility is set prior to shipping. Use the Utility when mounting a built-in
type of SCSI device in the device bay or confirming the settings.
Starting the SCSI Utility
When the server is turned on or restarted, the monitor displays the onboard SCSI BIOS
initialize message shown below. The display differs according to the type of connected
SCSI device.
LSI Logic Corp. SDMS (TM) VX.X PCI SCSI BIOS, PCI Rev. X.X, X.X
Copyright 1995-1999 Symbios Inc.
PCI-X.XX.XX
Press Ctrl-C to start Symbios Configuration Utility...
When the settings are correct, the SCSI ID and device name of the SCSI device
connected to the onboard SCSI controller appear on the screen. To start the SCSI Utility,
press the Ctrl (control) and <C> keys simultaneously after the monitor has displayed the
message "Press Ctrl-C to start Symbios Configuration Utility...".
Menu configuration
When the SCSI Utility starts, the main menu displays. The server has two on board SCSI
controllers, one of which is connected with the built-in hard disk drive and the other with
the 5.25" device in a standard configuration (that is, if no RAID controller is added).
Only "SYM53C1010" is used on the main menu.
