Connecting Hardware Devices
WARNING: The procedures in this section require specific technical knowledge and
experience. If you have no experience of installing/removing optional devices, or if
the job seems difficult, consult your authorized service provider. Toshiba assumes
no liability for damages if you install and/or remove optional devices yourself.
Use extreme caution when replacing an EPS-R power supply unit while the server
is in use. An error during power supply replacement while the server is on can
damage the server and cause data and/or programs to be lost or destroyed.
Replacing an EPS-R power supply unit

Set the switch on the EPS-R unit being removed to Off (

If fitted, remove the security bracket attached to the EPS-R unit.

Loosen the thumbscrew to release the EPS-R power supply unit from the power
supply cover plate. Do not remove the thumbscrew.

Press inward on the locking lever, then grasp the handle and pull the power supply
from the EPS-R cage.
CAUTION: Never use the handle of the EPS-R power supply unit to lift or move the
server. Using the handle can cause severe damage to the power supply, the EPS-R
cage, and/or internal server components.
