3 Enter a community name in the text box to the left of Community name. Click Add.
This community name is used to connect the Access Point Configuration Utility to
the server (access point).
4 Change the access authority for the entered community name to READ WRITE.
5 Click Add.
NOTE: The SNMP setup page is used to update the setup page but not to change
the settings during operation. This is to avoid affecting the service that the SNMP
agent is using on a non-wireless LAN because when a change is reflected, the
SNMP agent shuts down temporarily. To reflect the change, log in by root and
manually execute the following command.
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/snmpd restart
You can achieve similar results by restarting the active OS with the following
command. However, the system is significantly affected: service may stop for a
relatively long period of time. Use the above method as much as possible.
# reboot
When the command is executed, the network shuts down temporarily as explained
above; therefore, the service of the SNMP agent including the wired LAN may not
act normally. Before executing the command, check the operation status of another
network service so that it may be used is necessary.
