Management Software
The following items are available on the Configuration screen:
Disable radio button - Disables Automatic Server Restart
Enable radio button - Enables Automatic Server Restart
Time-out edit box - Specify the time-out period in this edit box, in minutes. A number
from 2 to 3600 can be specified.
Set button - Saves the settings
Before using the automatic server restart function, please read carefully the following
caution with regard to this function.
CAUTION: While this function is enabled, the motherboard will reset the system
and restart the server if the server fails to respond or if the server is kept in a heavily
loaded state for a long period of time. The function may restart the server without
saving application data and disk caches, and therefore data may be lost. When an
application is used that increases load or that runs high priority processes or
threads, the automatic server restart function could act, if the server is operating
normally, and data may be lost.
When enabling the automatic server restart function, you can specify the duration of
failure to respond or heavily loaded state after which the server automatically
reboots. The minimum duration that can be specified is two minutes.
If an OS crash to a blue screen occurs while this parameter is set to a value that is
too small, the system may be rebooted before the memory dump is completely
saved. To prevent this problem, set a reasonably large value that allows the
completion of saving the memory dump.
Front Panel Indicators
The Magnia Z310/Z310R is equipped with a front panel LCD, which displays up to 16
characters (40 characters used by a scroll).
The front panel has three display screens. Up to three sets of information can be
displayed in a panel view. Use the display change button to display the screens.
One screen is used for hardware-dependent faults. This screen is not displayed during
normal operation but is given priority over the other screens if a fault occurs.
The other screens are Panel View 1 and Panel View 2.
Panel View 1 provides information specific to the machine currently selected. The
information can be displayed or edited.
Panel View 2 displays alarm information when an alarm is reported to the
Management Proxy.
