Opening the 1555

To perform most repairs on the 1555, you need to open the case and disconnect the
upper case assembly. To open the 1555 you need:

Torque driver with a #10 Torx bit
To open the 1555
1. Remove the FCC label from the bottom of the case.
2. Remove the six Torx screws from the bottom of the case.
3. Hold the 1555 with one thumb on the heatsink and carefully pull the upper case
assembly from the lower case. Because the RF board/antenna assembly is seated in
the case without fasteners, holding the heatsink keeps the assembly from being
unseated. The upper case assembly is still connected to the lower case by a flex
cable and a twisted pair.
4. Carefully pull the flex cable out of the connector on the keyboard PCB.
