6. Click COMM Setup and set these values:
Serial Port: 1-8
Baud Rate: 19.2K
7. Pull the trigger on the 1555 to turn it on.
8. In the RFID Host Application, click Sync.
9. Click Reset.
10. Click RF Identify. The 1555 will try to read the test tag 100 times and the RFID
Host Application will keep track of how often the 1555 is able to read the tag.
The 1555 passes the test if it reads the tag at a rate of 85% or better. If the 1555
passes the Radiated Tag Read Test, testing is complete. If the 1555 fails the test, see
Chapter 1, "Troubleshooting the 1555."
11. Click PRC to reset the 1555 and end the Radiated Tag Read Test.

Open Air Tag Read Test

If the Shielded Test Chamber is not available, perform this test to confirm the 1555's
ability to read and interpret RFID tags. Be sure to use the appropriate Single Tag Test
Target for the 1555 being tested:
For 2450 MHz, use P/N T45532.
For 915 MHz, use P/N T45533.
To perform the Open Air Tag Read test
1. Position the Single Tag Test Target at least 0.3 m (12 in) away from metal walls and
at least 2.5 mm (1 in) away from non-metal walls.
2. Connect the 1555 to a PC using the appropriate cable.
3. Connect the battery or external power supply to the 1555. The 1555 turns on.
4. On the desktop PC, start the RFID Host Application (P/N A110006). The main
screen appears.
