When to Replace or Recharge Batteries

The Series 3300 provides two types of indicators to notify you when battery power
is running low: warning messages and modified cursors (see Table 2-2). These
indicators may be changed or disabled by an application program.
• LOW POWER - When the battery is low, the cursor changes, as shown in
Table 2-2. Depending on the configuration (if ERR3000 is loaded), the message
LOW BATTERY is also displayed. At this level, the 3300 continues to operate,
but there is probably less than one hour of usable power left.
• VERY LOW - When the power becomes very low, the REPLACE CELLS
message is displayed briefly and the system powers off. You must replace or
recharge the batteries before continuing to use the 3300.
• DEAD LITHIUM - The lithium batteries are too low to provide backup
power. These should be replaced as soon as possible to prevent loss of data
when the primary pack requires replacement.
